Bikeability L1

Do any of you have schemes (either in house or an external provider) who deliver Bikeability Level 1 as the separate course (ie not as part of the L1/2 combined course).
If so do you use any local funding to support delivery or do you just claim the £5 per head rate supplied by DfT grant? My understanding is that some years ago the rate available from the DfT was £15 per head, but that this then got changed to £5 per head.

Bikeability L1

We do deliver seperate level 1 courses. DfT pay for some of the courses and my revenue budget pay for the remaining. At present the courses are free although we are looking at charging for them.
Happy to discuss if you need further information.

We do deliver this to year 3 students. I use the DfT funding to cover the cost of the instructors, but will use my "council" time (I'm employed part time by the local authority to coordinate training) to make up the numbers if demand exceeds the grant!

Bikeability L1

Using the Bikeability Grant Funding for Level 1 at 5 per head, we commission our Bikeability Contractor to deliver a Level 1 stand-alone course for mainly Year 3 & year 4 children to the Bikeability maximum ratio of 12:1, over two hours. Courses are free to schools/parents. Approx 1500 children in Devon(not including Plymouth and Torbay) receive L1 training this way, in addition to the c6,000 Year 5&6s who participate in the L1 and L2 Combined course.
