Help requested posted on 5th November 2012:
Seeking assistance with older drivers' project
TRL is asking for assistance from road safety professionals with a project relating to older drivers that it is carrying out on behalf of the RAC Foundation.
TRL has been commissioned by the RAC Foundation to produce a summary of current knowledge on the potential, and limitations, of self-assessment tools for older drivers. The project follows on from the Foundationís earlier review on maintaining older driversí safe mobility.
This new study will explore the role of self-assessment tools in supporting older driversí self-regulation. The Foundation and TRL are seeking any information on self-assessment tools for older drivers, with a particular emphasis on computer-based and web-based self-assessments.
Full details can be found at: http://www.roadsafetygb.org.uk/news/2483.html
Please contact either myself of Britta Lang at TRL (email: firstname.lastname@example.org) if you have any information and would be able to fill out a questionnaire.
Many thanks in advance for your assistance.

We conduct an Older Drivers programme based on the Suffolk Grand Driver programme.
This includes a self assessm, ent tool within the driver handbook but no on-line or computer based assessment tools.
We would be very happy to work with you in your study if appropriate and modest demands on our staff time - we have limited resources but want to help if we can as this is a priority subject for us.

Older Driver Project
We have recently created an online assessment tool, which we intend to use in our older drive campaign, as well as a driving for work assessment tool (amongst other interventions).
We have also undertaken a piece of research looking into older driver issues and are using the research to direct the format of the assessment tool.
We'd be more than happy to work with you on tweaking the tool for older drivers and working with you on a live trial to look at the effect on self-regulation of this tool.
