School Crossing Patrol criteria

Do all authorities us the RSGB criteria of 4,000,000 to establish/recruit to an SCP site or do some us a lower figure ie 3,000,000 or even higher ie 6,000,000. Also, do all authorities use the additional factors? What criteria is used by individual authority?

School Crossing Patrol criteria

Westminster follows the RSGB guidelines.
We have only 9 sites with SCPs and 4 of them require the weighting system to meet the requirements.
We also have 2 schools, both private, who have classrooms and dining areas across a road from the main classroom buildings. They have been using staff to stop traffic to move whole classes and year groups throughout the day.
A SCP site has to be approved by the highways authority so we added the sites to our data, trained their staff members so that they can now do what they have been doing legitimately. They paid for the kit, the training and the staff and manage them. We have not used the criteria for PV2 as it was recognised this was the best solution to a local problem.

We follow RSGB guidelines. We use the 4m figure as a baseline, and include additional factors in the PV2 calculation when relevant.
However, we are sometimes asked to assess sites with existing crossings e.g. zebra, and we use a higher baseline figure of 10m in the calculations - i suspect this reflects the additional safety afforded by the crossing itself (like a negative adjustment factor). Unsurprisingly, none of these sites ever meets the criteria.

North Lincolnshire use 4 million. The adjustment factors are included if the initial PV2 is below 4m.
