CLOCS (Construction Logistics and Community Safety)

CLOCS is the national Standard for ensuring the safest construction vehicle journeys.

CLOCS brings contractors, fleet operators, clients and regulators together to work collaboratively to maximise the many social and commercial benefits of safe, green and efficient construction logistics. Its aims are:

  • zero collisions between construction vehicles and the community
  • improved air quality and reduced emissions
  • fewer vehicle journeys
  • reduced reputational risk

Over 5,500 vulnerable road users are killed or injured every year in collisions on Britain’s roads with vehicles commonplace in construction – that’s 20 people every working day. And with over three times as many construction-related fatalities outside the hoarding compared to inside, a culture-shift is necessary to raise standards.

CLOCS has been adopted by an ever-growing number of Champions who commit to operating at a higher standard and require adherence to the CLOCS Standard requirements in their activities.
