About the Knowledge Centre

The Road Safety Knowledge Centre (Knowledge Centre) was developed by Road Safety GB with funding provided by the Department for Transport. It was launched in 2010 as the successor to the Road Safety Time Bank.

The Knowledge Centre is a web-based library of road safety related information and expertise, primarily from UK-based road safety organisations. Information within the Knowledge Centre is available free of charge to anyone.

Information is categorised by road safety topic/road user (speed, young drivers etc) and by a range of other subjects including research & reports, engineering, enforcement etc.

Information is presented in summary format with downloads and contact details for people wanting more detail.

Prior to launching the Knowledge Centre, Road Safety GB went through a process of stakeholder consultation with all of the key organisations involved in road safety delivery across the UK.

The current version of the Knowledge Centre went live in November 2020.
