ParticipantThis is a brilliant idea so and one feather in a background project I am working on (theoretical not with resources that will help you – sorry).
Given all the other less important mandatory training various organisations require their employees to complete every year or three year cycles it is surprising more organisations do not already include a road-safety component.
If a Driver/ Road Safety awareness and update module was launched and the NHS/ Military and all Public Sector organisations required their staff to complete it we would capture over 18% of the population which would represent a significant improvement in education/ knowledge/ awareness.
Please do let us know how you get on and if anyone knows there are already resources/ emodules etc out there please reply here or email me – would make approaching our own organisations easier if something already exists.
Kind Regards,

ParticipantHello Jane, I am a prehospital doctor with Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance (DSAA) and Consultant in Emergency Medicine at Dorset County Hospital. Relevant local activity that i am aware of through various partners includes:
1. Safe Drive Stay Alive coorindated by Dorset & Wiltshire Fire & Rescue Service – multiagency presentation going into schools and Colleges aimed at 6th form years re RTC prevention.
2. Survive the Drive – similar DWFRS project going into military bases.
3. Biker Down and Docbike activities.
4. One of the Critical Care Paramedics at DSAA developed a “Farmer Down” presentation and talks to Young Farmer groups etc covering the risks and first aid advice akin to Biker down though it is dormant at present due to staff changes.
Various other relevant projects associated with local Road Safety Partnerships which should be accessible via a search or you hopefully will get direct feedback from the relevant individuals in response to your querry.
Kind Regards,
