Cardiff Council has a duty under the Road Traffic Act 1988 to promote road safety. The Council’s Road Safety Team has responsibility for education, training, publicity and the operation of the School Crossing Patrol Service.
The Road Safety Team provides a comprehensive level of support to schools and colleges across the County and the Centre is open to the public during normal working hours.
On the Road Safety Centre website, you can access a wide-range of useful information on all aspects of road safety education, training and publicity and the School Crossing Patrol Service. In addition, you can find details of local road safety services provided by the Road Safety Team. There is a host of information on this site for schools and children of all ages and abilities, e.g. Quizzes, competitions, Safer Routes to School project ideas and the Roadie Club.
A wide range of traffic education resources, which are linked to the national curriculum, are available for loan to schools and educational establishments.
