The Government published an updated version of its Making Roads Safer policy document on 25 March 2103

This document provides a summary of Government actions on a wide range of road safety issues including drink and drug driving, speed limits, cyclists’ safety, road safety education for children, motorcycle safety, uninsured drivers, driver and rider driving test standards, driver and rider training and training and assessment of instructors.

  1. The Road Safety policy is key to all road safety programs, projects and activities. Many if not all African countries underestimate the role road safety policy plays in ensuring that set goals are met within time frame or meeting dead lines.Send me a PDF document on road safety policy for all transport and various categories of road usets. I am waiting for the policy to advise metro council on road safety

  2. Very poor attempt to improve road safety on the cheap. The absence of any lead on engineering measures (road or vehicle) is conspicuous. Those countries (that we like to measure ourselves against) that have made most progress in accident reduction have recognised that it is necessary to invest in infrastructure.
