This statistical bulletin looks police recorded road casualties in Wales.

• During 2011 there were 6,434 road accidents involving personal injury recorded by the police in Wales, 416 (6%) fewer than in 2010.
• These accidents resulted in 9,406 casualties, 549 (6%) fewer than in 2010.
Within this total:
• 121 people were killed on Welsh roads in 2011, 32 (36%) more than in 2010.
• 1,126 people were seriously injured in 2011, 128 (13%) more than in 2010.
• 8,159 people were slightly injured, a decrease of 709 (8%) compared with the previous year.
