In July 2020, following a review of partnership arrangements and governance, the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Road Safety Partnership formally adopted a new strategy and became the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Vision Zero Partnership. This reflects the aspiration of achieving Vision Zero – that no human being should be killed or seriously injured as the result of a road collision.

The Vision Zero Partnership is committed to a Safe System approach. Its structure and activities are based on the principles of Safe Systems and this Strategy sets out how the partners will work together to achieve Vision Zero.

The strategy also sets out the Vision Zero Partnership’s approach to working with communities. The approach is evidenced-led and is a two-way exchange, where the Partnership is committed to work with communities to improve lives, whilst at the same time, empowering communities to identify and implement their own  solutions.
