Warwickshire Police will use all its resources to reduce death, injury, loss and distress.
The Road Safety Unit informs and supports the force’s collision reduction strategy. Experienced staff within the Unit analyse collision data to identify key sites, routes and themes on the County road network. This intelligence is used to guide and inform policing activity.
The Unit also responds to correspondence from a wide variety of sources about traffic management and road safety issues. Each case is investigated and an appropriate course of action recommended. Solutions may include enforcement, engineering or education interventions.
In addition, the Unit works on behalf of the Chief Constable with local highway authorities and other relevant agencies – including the Warwickshire Road Safety Partnership – to collaborate and coordinate activities to protect people from harm on Warwickshire’s roads.
