Cycle Training DVD for International Students (and other adults)

Organisation: Bournemouth Borough Council
Date uploaded: 25th August 2010
Date published/launched: April 2009

Following a number of fatal/serious cycle accidents in Bournemouth involving international students, and a high number of KSI cycle casualties, a DVD was developed in order to improve training for this group (and other adults).

Free
The film is designed to be used as a training resource with adult cyclists in the UK.

These may be secondary school students (from Year 10 upwards), Further Education (FE) or Higher Education (HE) students, international students in language schools, or adults returning to cycling.

The DVD contains interviews with cyclists who have been involved in accidents, and examples of good practice, covering a range of topics including safety checks, cycle lanes, road signs, crossings and road position. Teaching notes to help support a training session are included in the accompanying booklet.

The DVD can be accessed on Bournemouth Borough Council’s website using the link below.
