Ghost Street is an award winning film designed to make teenagers think twice about road safety.

Purchase
In the film a series of spooky victims of road accidents haunt a quiet urban street to provide words of warning to the lead character, Tabby, who is too focussed on her mp3 player, Facebook and boys.

Teenagers naturally expect independence. They travel on their own or with friends more than they used to and are confident that they know what to do around roads and traffic. In fact, they over-estimate their road skills.

Ghost Street was originally commissioned by Safe Newcastle and the city’s road safety team to be shown to young people aged 12–16 years in schools across Newcastle.

It tells the story of Tabby, your average and seriously distracted teenager, living in a world of mp3 players, gossip and mobile phones until her distraction costs her dearly.

Tabby finds herself trapped in another worldly place, a deathly-silent street until the ghosts come out to play. Each gory character has met their end on the same street through the decades and each has a lesson to learn from the road.

Ghost Street scooped the Best Drama category at the 2010 Royal Television Society Awards in Gateshead.
The film also received four nominations in the 2010 IVCA (International Visual Communications Association) Awards.
